Abbot Travel is here again with another Royalton Antigua update. So the Royalton Antigua has been open now for just over 2 weeks. Upon opening there was some major teething issues which have now all settled down. The hotel is steadily getting to the great standard that is is expected of the Royalton brand. We have contacted all our customers travelling up to July 31st to advised them of the ongoing work of the Chairman’s Overwater Bungalows. While this will not be a major set back to a holiday at Royalton Antigua we feel as a responsible tour operator it is our duty to inform our customers as there enjoyment of their holiday is paramount.
We have been monitoring the situation closely at the hotel and had our reps in there once a week since opening. We have found that the grass is starting to grow and turn green and the promised completion of restaurants and kids club is coming along well. While everything is not perfect steps are being put in place to remedy this and staff training is ongoing and reported stock shortages are becoming less and less. We are confident that the remaining issues should not majorly effect your enjoyment of your holiday.
Royalton Antigua Construction – While there is still some ongoing work most of this is at the back of the hotel and away from guests. If you do have a Mountain View room “affectionately know by some as Goat View” you may see construction from your room balcony. And while out on property the main work you may see is the gardeners and landscapers. During the past days since opening it has been a roller coaster of emotions for some people that have been following on social media. We have even seen one report of a guest leaving and being moved to St James Club Antigua but the standard at the Royalton Antigua was far superior and more modern so got them to return him to the hotel to complete his holiday at Royalton. That in itself shows just how much the Royalton Antigua has come along.
We have got some live images of the Hotel from Management that we would like to share with you below
Things are on track for the opening and we had a Drone flyover on the Monday 29th April and got some amazing photos of the construction completed on the Royalton Antigua. Please see the images below and do not forget to check the prices on our hotel page here https://abbot.travel/hotel-details/antigua/royalton-antigua

Can anyone confirm if tailored shorts are allowed in the restaurants in the evenings please
Hi Jonathan most restaurants will allow tailored shorts but I always travel with a pair of trousers for the nicer restaurants that sometimes do not allow them – hope this helps
Thanks
Allister
Thank you for doing such a great job on updating everyone on the ongoing status of the Royalton Antigua.
When was the actual video taken?
Thank you,
Hi Leonard this was taken on Saturday 20th April 2019
Thank you
Keep up the good work can’t wait to visite in september
Can you please tell me whether or not the Diamond Club provides bathrobes and slippers for guests in each room?
Hi Robyn I will try to find out by tomorrow
Do the rooms have jacuzzis? More specifically the junior suites?
No they do not. We are at the hotel right now, arrived on May 3. Hotel is open but not ready at all. They do not have a single shower at the beach and constantly lacking towels. Buffet restaurant is at the best 2- 3 stars. This is a rip off big time. Stay away for a wile at least.
Whats Will the safety be like on the resort? Will there be guards?
Plenty of security guards throughout the premises. Not sure why, no obvious reasons to worry.
What will be the state of the hotel in July. What I have read thus far is very disappointing, no diamond club facilities, restaurants not open and bad service throughout.
We have booked our vacation for October . Saw some bad reviews from guests staying during first week of May- little worried now. Looks like the construction will up and going for another 6-7 months
It is really a nice and helpful piece of info. Im glad that you shared this helpful information with us. Please keep us up to date like this. Thanks for sharing. efggccddgeec
