Things to do in St Lucia

Gros Islet Jump Up
There’s nothing to beat a good street party. Gros Islet just north of Rodney Bay Village hosts such a party every Friday night. It goes by the name of The Gros Islet Jump Up. It opens at 8 until late.
You will hear it and smell it before you see it. Giant speakers Stalls sell barbecued fish and chicken, whelks and crabmeat, and local beverages.
Giant loudspeakers beat out Caribbean music. And you can almost smell the BBQ fish and chicken just thinking about it. Add whelks, crabmeat and some local brew.
Visitors and residents alike enjoy dancing in the street.

Pigeon Island National Park
Pigeon Island is a National Park and a National Landmark. It is considered to be one of the most important sites of Saint Lucia’s history. This island is a living organic museum. Pigeon Island was surrounded by water at one time but a causeway was built in 1972.
It is open every day of the year. There is a small fee for adult visitors of US$8 and $3 for children. It represents great value for money as there are a number of heritage attractions and amenities which include:
- Important historical ruins of military buildings used when the British and French were doing battle for the island.
- Two beautiful beaches.
- A restaurant presenting local cuisine.
- An historical theme at the pub and restaurant.
- The Fort lookout point affords panoramic views of the Northwest coastline.
Visit the world’s only ‘drive-in’ volcano
Sulphur Springs as it is known locally, is a dormant volcano which bubbles with steam and boiling mud. The Soufrière Volcano is probably the only volcano in the world that you can drive up to. You can smell the sulfur from half a mile away. Take the opportunity to improve your complexion with a dip in the natural mud baths.
